Stickers of the Year
My favourite sticker book release this year was Nathalie Lété (Webpage, Instagram). All original, beautiful art.
My crappy photos don’t do it justice:
Songs of the Year
d4vd - Feel It
Arkells - Big Feelings, Past Life
Paramore - Burning Down the House (cover)
Dionne Warwick - Walk On By (and the sequel)
Infinity Song - Sinking Boat
Elisapie - Dreams (cover)
Hozier - Talk
Books of the Year
I will have “read” about 150 books by the end of the year, but some were flipping through cookbooks or inhaling Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels, so that number isn’t super useful. I also got a Net Galley account, so that’s been fun.
I read many romance novels, and I loved all the ones that I finished! (I do not finish anything less than a 3 star.)
Here are some books outside of that genre that blew my mind:
Fiction
Kate Folk - Sky Daddy - out April 2025, thank you Net Galley!
Non-fiction
Lucy Cooke - Bitch: On the Female of the Species
Shannon Downey - Let's Move the Needle: An Activism Handbook for Artists, Crafters, Creatives, and Makers; Build Community and Make Change!
Deb Chachra - How Infrastructure Works: Inside the Systems That Shape Our World
Ruth Whippman - BoyMom: Reimagining Boyhood in the Age of Impossible Masculinity
Clothing of the Year
Pants - my bespoke sunflower joggers (pro tip: have a sister that sews)
T-shirt - my Sick Jan tee from a Chris Fleming show
Shoes - rainbow crocs (worn indoors only to stay white)
Crewneck - Junior Grannies (Got some ketchup on it this week, love that for me)
Native prairie garden plant of the Year
Wild columbine or Aquilegia canadensis. I’d like to add more to my garden next year. It’s so pretty!
Food of the year
Beef stew with butternut squash (this household stans Glen and Julie)
Rachael salad2

So excited for Sky Daddy. Love Kate Folk. I need a Net Galley account.
