Sometimes it’s nice and wonderful and soothing to have a cool collection of a type of thing. Maybe it’s plants, or mustards, or Garfields, or even Smooshees1.
Likewise, it can be fun to collect a specific type of book, for yourself or others.
Reminder - here is my referral code, which gets you a discount and gives me book reward dollars that I will immediately spend again: this code. If you don’t want to use it, no worries, I also like to stay off “the grid” (as I save one million passwords into every browser ever)
“The Peterson Field Guides (PFG) are a popular and influential series of American field guides intended to assist the layman in identification of birds, plants, insects and other natural phenomena.” There are well over 50 editions and many of them are on bookoutlet. There are so many! I think these would be great to have around the house or cottage or while doing outdoor activities in a new place.
I had a rocks and minerals book growing up and I still remember large chunks of it.
Last year, I bought one board book for my nephew because it had his name in the title. Then I “accidentally” bought every other one in the series as they come up for sale.
If you are building a collection of the same dang book with every possible cover, you can do that too.
With a robust grouping of materials, you can have a friend over and announce “Welcome… to the COLLECTION” in the same manner as welcoming to someone to Jurassic Park.
Note to self: if somehow become independently wealthy and solve world hunger/etc: purchase all the Smooshees
It's neither here nor there since BookOutlet both redirects me to the US site AND does not appear to carry this, but the 1987 film version of The Secret Garden is the best one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_Garden_(1987_film)
