What's new in stickers? (May 2024)
In this issue: the sky, amateur lexicology, sassy animals, and more adjectives
“Let’s go crazy!” - Prince
NEW PETER PAUPER PRESS, I am screaming, crying, and throwing up.
Celestial Wonders: A Cosmic Sticker Book (May 2024). People really love the sky, if the latest eclipse was any indication.
Cottagecore: An Idyllic Collection of Cozy Stickers (June 2024).
Peter Pauper Press released Boho Dreams last year which seemed similar, and I decided to look up the difference.
The difference according to the magic W:
Cottagecore is an internet aesthetic idealising rural life
Boho-chic is a style of fashion drawing on various bohemian and hippie influences
The crowd-sourced difference (thanks to my respondents):
“Boho is hippy/Coachella, cottagecore is more sad beige”
“There’s more wicker in cottagecore and more paisley in boho”
“Earwigs?”
“Cottage core is more like local country vibes, boho chic is like you’ve travelled to Thailand once?”
“Grandma vibes”
“Twine vs ribbon?”
“Cottagecore is more grandma coded”
“Feathers? Northern Reflections?”
“One you buy at Costco, the other at value village?”
“Mushrooms”
“Cottage core: floral dresses + combat boots. Boho chic: Macrame + fringe vests”
“One makes jam the other hot glues flowers to their kicky berets”
“Cottagecore = grandma/florals/green/peach, Boho chic = rattan/macrame/beige/ivory”
Who described it best?
Regardless, I think we can all agree that everybody dance now.
Brass Monkey Goods has two more for us - Moody Cats and Salty Birds. There are peeks inside them at am@zon.
On top of that, Issue 10 for ban.do! Still no word on the mysterious Issue 1.
Live deliciously!
