When my son was a toddler, he had a Sesame Street toy remote control. When you pushed the 3, Oscar would shout GET LOST! and my son would push it over and over and over again. Memories.
Oscar the Grouch first appeared on Sesame Street in 1969. Yes - he’s Gen X.
Here are some great vintage items featuring Oscar:
Oscar the Grouch stuffie with one giant fluffy brown eyebrow, a yellow t-shirt with his name, and no trash can? Not creepy at all 1978 figurine of Oscar with pinprick eyes (Possibly indicating drug use? I re-took First Aid a few weeks ago) Nude Oscar stuffie - two separate eyebrows this time, but no clothes or can. Kind of love this one! A 2-inch figure - Oscar pops out of his trash can. Part of the Sesame Street Fisher-Price Little People released in the1970s. (Side note if you have this set, can I come play with it? Ridiculously cute) A fun change - PVC figure of Oscar driving his trash can on its side as a car. The side of the vehicle says “TRASH” in red letters, and there is an “I LOVE TRASH” sticker on the front. The license plate is the shape of the Sesame Street sign! McCall’s pattern set for a Big Bird bedspread and an Oscar toy hamper, which is a trash can with Oscar inside. Adorable Oscar cookie jar, just as a reminder that if I had a large house and infinite funds, I would almost certainly start collecting cookie jars
My Edmonton friend actually does have that FP street scene set 😁
Lol I was on the wrong year and those people were not born that year. Tuxedo mask meme applicable here
